Answer seven football questions, with 25 seconds on the clock. The rarer your correct answer, the further the shot travels, from 6 yards to 100.

What this football quiz is
Longshots is a free daily football quiz in the browser at longshots.app. The public page calls it the daily long-range football quiz. You get seven questions and 25 seconds on each. A correct answer is a shot. The rarer that answer is among people playing that day, the further the shot travels.
Joe Gilmore built it and said on Reddit, on 3 November 2026, that he was the only person working on it. Balls.ie wrote it up on 5 November 2026. The Instagram bio credits @gilmedia.uk and lists [email protected] for game enquiries. There is no store app. The manifest describes a browser game you can add to your home screen.
How a round works
Open the site and press Kick off. You do not need an account for the daily set. Type any correct answer and press Shoot. Obvious answers are tap-ins. Obscure correct answers travel further. Wrong answers are saved on the round log. Running out of time is a slide tackle and that question scores nothing.
The five distances I can confirm from the public game files, read on 6 November 2026, are 6, 18, 40, 55 and 100 yards. A perfect round is seven times 100, so 700. The public homepage does not print the number 700. I show the arithmetic beside the bands on the scoring page.
Today’s match day
On 6 November 2026 the public title read “LONGSHOTS · Match day #4” and the header read “MATCH DAY #4 · 6 NOV”. Joe Gilmore’s post the same day said match day 4 was live and that match day 3 had 258,010 entries. A player share card from match day 3 said “better than 97% of today’s 216,536 players”. I keep both figures. They use different words and they were collected at different moments.
New questions arrive at midnight UK time. The day index in the public game files starts on 3 November 2026. In November, UK time and UTC are the same hour. I do not promise a to-the-second reset in British Summer Time, because the page copy and the day counter are not written the same way.
Where to play
The quiz itself lives on longshots.app. This guide does not host the round. Accounts are optional. You need one for the archive, the Golden Boot table and private leagues. Kickabout with mates was labelled coming soon on the public page on 6 November 2026.
Same name, different things
Search results for the bare word also show a 2008 film, a bar and grill, a dictionary entry, and a Call of Duty camouflage challenge. Those are other uses of the word. This site is about the daily football quiz only. If you want the film, the restaurant, or a weapon challenge, you are in the wrong place.
