About this Longshots guide

longshots.pro explains the daily football quiz that runs at longshots.app. We do not operate the quiz, we do not store your rounds, and we do not sell a download. If you want to play, use the game’s own site.

Who made the game

Joe Gilmore’s Reddit announcement dates the launch to 3 November 2026 (one maker source for the exact date). In that post he said he was the only person working on it. He posts as @Gilology. The Instagram bio credits @gilmedia.uk and gives [email protected] for game enquiries. The terms and privacy page use that same address. Balls.ie, by Gary Connaughton, covered the quiz on 5 November 2026. The game says it is not connected with any club, league, player or governing body.

Why the guide exists

The interesting facts — the five distances, the tier lines, where the archive sits — were not written up as a public help page. The daily set is hard to follow from the outside because the full answer sheet stays inside the round. The name is also shared with a film, a bar and a camouflage challenge, so a bare search is noisy.

How we check a sentence

• A verified claim needs two independent public sources. The game page and its files count as one official source; official-only details are labelled as such.
• One forum thread stays labelled as one thread.
• If two numbers disagree, both stay, with their labels.
• If nobody has published a figure, the cell stays empty.
• We do not copy the in-game team sheet into an answer key.

Corrections go to contact. The method is written out on the editorial policy.
