How a sentence earns a place on the page.
Editorial policy
longshots.pro is a guide to one daily football quiz. The desk is the longshots.pro editorial team. We are not the people who write the questions. Corrections go to [email protected].
What we will publish
- A mechanic supported by two independent public sources, or a clearly labelled single official source. The game page and its files are one source, not independent corroboration.
- A player report, labelled with the thread and the date, when only one community has said it.
- Two numbers that disagree, printed separately with the words each source used.
- An empty cell, with a short reason, when a figure has no source.
What we leave out
- Today’s answer key, unless a player or the maker has published it in their own words. A tag such as “FA Cup winners” is a theme, not a list of clubs.
- Nicknames from the Golden Boot table.
- A guessed percentile for a keeper’s goal.
- A solver, a script, or a copied team sheet.
- Follower counts, when the same profile shows two different numbers.
Dates
Every page carries the date it was checked. The match-day number on 6 November 2026 was 4, because the public title said so and the day counter starts on 3 November 2026. Later days will be added when a public page or post names them. We do not backfill an answer from memory.
First person
Each page ends with a short note in the editor’s voice: what judgment was made, then one limitation. The note is about the decision, not about the tools used to open a public page.
Corrections
If you have a public source we missed, email the URL of our page and the URL of the source. We would rather change a cell than defend it. A material change updates the modified date on that page.
